This past weekend, my daughter had the opportunity to sing downtown at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. I honestly never knew that this Cathedral existed! It is simply an amazing sight.

After dropping off my daughter for pre-concert rehearsal, my friend, mom, and I decided to drive around to find a place to hang out for about an hour, until the concert.

We ended up at Mead's Corner.

I had heard a few things about Mead's Corner but really wasn't familiar with it. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the the mission of Mead's Corner is is to be a place where the church and the community cross paths, an idea that came straight from the Bible.

Mead’s Corner is owned by First United Methodist Church. 10% of their profits go directly to ministries which help people in need. I love the fact that this is not just another coffee shop. It's a coffee shop with a mission.

We saw many homeless people come in while we were there. They would leave with some sort of bag. I'm curious to find out what exactly this bag was.

While this may bother some, I love the fact that they are able to serve our community this way. This is what Jesus would do.

I ordered a delicious cup of coffee and enjoyed nice conversation in the cozy building with my friend and mom. My friend order the hummus and shared a bit with me, and it was pretty yummy also.

Mead's Corner also offers many fun events, including open mic nights, concerts, and even men's groups. My friend and I will be going back soon!

If you are looking for a place to enjoy some yummy food, a good cup of coffee, or some fun music, check out Mead's Corner!
